Apart from the numerous cultural experiences and enjoying the local culinary art visitors who go to the local shops and shopping malls for window-shopping or shopping can leave for home with pleasant experiences and full bags. In the main street of our town and in the pleasant back-street in the city centre there are a continuous line of clothes’ shops, jeweller’s and souvenir shops, bookshops, drugstores, perfumeries where apart from products at reasonable prices more expensive high quality goods and internationally known items are sold.


In addition to the smaller shops the shopping malls are ideal places for shopping among which Halköz Shopping Mall, Debrecen Plaza (4 You, Aboriginal, Adidas, Nike, Benetton, Gas, Pepe Jeans, Skiny, Terranova, Triumph, Humanic, Intersport, Kenvelo, Mango, Drogerie Markt, Match, Exclusive Best Change, T-Mobile, McDonald’s, CinemaCity, etc.), Malompark Shopping Malls (Praktiker, Interspar, Media Markt, Fuji Foto, Avon, Avanglion, etc.), Tesco (Deichmann, Kodak, Players Room, Vodafone, T-Mobile, etc.), Cora (Avon, Jysk, Siemens etc.), Metro, Stop Shop (Deichmann, Exclusive Change, H&M, Intersport, Müller, New Yorker, Office Depot, Playersroom, Plus, Takko Fashion, etc.) and Forum Debrecen can be found in the city centre (Vision Express, Drogeria Markt, H&M, Women’s Secret, Wrangler, Player’s Room, Adidas, iStyle, Levi’s, Mustang, Neckermann, Exclusive Best Change, Saturn, Tom Tailor, Camel Active, Springfield, Douglas, Esprit, Orsay, Panama Jack, Mexx, C&A, Calzedonia, Intimissimi, Salamander, New Yorker, Swarovski, Mango, Manas, Zara, Triumph, Skiny, Marks & Spencer, Deichmann, Vodafone, KFC, Burger King, T-Mobile, Spar City). Along the roads leading out of the town hypermarkets, wholesalers await customers.


In Debrecen besides the shopping malls you can find the shops of famous brands and networks, like Kika, Estée Lauder, Douglas, Clinique, Yves Saint Laurent, Yves Rocher, Villeroy and Boch, Marks & Spencer, Mexx, Adidas, Nike, Benetton, C&A, Hervis, Vögele, Takko, New Yorker, Humanic, Baumax, ElectroWorld, Aldi, Penny Market, Plus, etc. Shops including Debrecen Plaza and Debrecen Forum are situated primarily in the city centre. Shopping centres like Cora, Metro, Kika, Stop Shop, Park Centre, Baumax and Malompark Shopping Mall can be found in a group in the western part of the city, near one of the exit lanes of Motorway 35. Tesco and Electro World were built in the western part of the historical down-town, a kilometre from the city centre.


Visitors who long for a rest and relax after shopping can spend pleasant hours in Nagyerdő known as the lung of the town. In the Aquaticum Spa and Bath Centre a thermal spa, a swimming-pool, a sauna, a Mediterranean style spa and wellness corner await visitors. In the city centre cinemas can be found, among others Apollo showing art films and Cinema City showing mostly American blockbusters await the lovers of cinema. In the evening visitors can relax at nightclubs, clubs, pubs or taverns.
